Colfax Gun and Ammo was established in December 2006, we started in a small building located in Colfax, NC. We are located on Market St in the middle of Colfax, NC.  We started with an inventory of less than 20 guns including Rifles and Handguns.  During the past three years we have grown not only in size but our inventory now consist of 250 handguns and over 100 long Rifles and shotguns.

I honestly believe our growth is because of our local home grown employees along with our “Make sure the customer is satisfied” approach too doing business.  Our policy is if you’re not happy we’re not happy!!!

We are also having a special on Gun cleaning; our usual price is $45.00 for basic cleaning and inspection.  During the month of April we offer cleaning and inspection of both Handguns and Long guns.  This includes a thorough cleaning and inspection of your Gun.

From I-40 West:

Get off on the Sandy Ridge exit.
At the end of the off Ramp Turn right.
Turn left at the 2nd light.
Go approx 2 miles, you will see the Colfax Fire Station on the right side, the Gun Shop is the next building on the right.

From I-40 East:

Get off on the Sandy Ridge exit.
At the end of the off ramp turn Left.
Cross the bridge and at the second light turn Left.
Approx 2 miles, you will see the Colfax Fire Station on the right side.  The Gun Shop is the next building on the right.


From Market St:

Leaving Greensboro, continue west past the Airport until you reach Colfax,  Watch for Fire Station on right the Gun Shop is on the right just pass the Fire Station.

     In order to purchase a Handgun you must be a resident of North Carolina, be 21 years of age or older.  Have either a valid Permit issued by the Sheriff of the county in which you reside in or posses a valid Conceal Carry Permit issued by North Carolina.

     In order to purchase a Long Gun ( Rifle/Shotgun) you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid ID.  All Long gun purchases must be telephonically called in or you must posses a valid Conceal Carry Permit issued by North Carolina.  The call process usually only takes a few short minutes unless for some reason your purchase is delayed.  That usually takes a few days to either receive approval or denial.  In either case we will contact you via telephone.

     All sales are final, we will however assist you in how to return you Gun to the Manufacturer repair or replacement.

Andy Rose (lugnut) is our on site Gun Smith.  Andy is a graduate of Montgomery College, and has over five years experience in all types of Handguns as well as long guns.  Andy served as the Gun Smith for Gander Mountain until joining us at Colfax Gun and Ammo.  We invite you to stop by and meet Andy and the rest of the staff and Colfax Gun and Ammo.

Andy specializes in service, repair and custom work of 1911 and Ruger 10/22.

Gun Repair and Cleaning Cost:

Basic Cleaning:  $25.00

Clean service and inspect:  $40.00 depending on findings the cost may increase.

Trigger Work:  $60.00 and up depending on the type of gun.

Scope Mounting:  $20.00 doesn't include hardware.

Glock Ghost Trigger: With parts and labor $30.00

Handgun and long gun sight installation.  $30.00 > $65.00

Stock modification:  Glass bedding/Free float $120.00
